Martina has practised and taught yoga for many years. Her accessible approach supports and encourages students to find their own innate wisdom within.

She teaches regular weekly public yoga classes, at Breathing Space Yoga Group in Newmarket, Auckland, offers private yoga tuition and hosts workshops.

🙂 Studio reopening with move to COVID-19 Alert Level 2 in Auckland tomorrow, Sunday 7th March.

☢️ As usual all Alert Level 2 health guidelines will be followed, which includes no hands on adjustments, oh and don't forget to scan in, though I do keep a record of all students who attend class as well.

🧘🏻‍♀️ I don't usually teach on Sundays, but will run a special one-off Shadow Yoga Self Practice class at 11am tomorrow.

👏🏻 Full regular schedule from Monday the 8th, except:
Thursday 11th 4-5:30pm Shadow Self Practice Class and Saturday 13th 11am-12:45pm Led Shadow General Class, which are cancelled as I will be in Christchurch with a small group of students on a Shadow Yoga Adventure with Mark Bouckoms.

Eleanor for covering Personal Practice Classes on Thursday 11th 5:30-7pm & Saturday 13th 9-11am

Looking forward to seeing regular students in class again tomorrow, Thursday 18th February when Auckland moves to Level 2. 💛
No need to book since classes are boutique size, though please remember to clean all common equipment you may use with our mat sanitiser, and stay home if you are unwell. 🙏
Sadly no hands on adjustments till we return to Level 1. 🙌

Love the mantra. Back into my home practice each evening.

I learnt this at our conference last week... "kia kaha kia maia kia manawanui" - Be strong, be brave, be steadfast. Quite like it:)

One to One yoga tuition can be highly beneficial for those:

  • with injury or illness
  • during pregnancy, perhaps adapting a regular practice
  • developing a home yoga practice
  • new to yoga seeking individual attention

Workshops and events

Events provide inspiration to start or deepen your practice, and connect with others on the yoga journey.

  • 2 or 3 times a year we host workshops with Mark Bouckoms, an experienced Shadow Practitioner and teacher from Christchurch.

Mark Bouckoms has been practising and imparting the skills of Yoga for over 30 years. He has studied with masters in India and China, including Natanaga Zhander (Shandor Remete), founder of Shadow Yoga & B. K. S. Iyengar.

Mark is recognised for his ability to understand the practitioner’s needs and unique requirements, working adeptly with students of all ages and abilities. Through his own interest in sport he has introduced Yoga to many of New Zealand’s top athletes and national teams.

 He has co-taught Yoga teacher training programmes and meditation retreats in New Zealand and internationally.

Whether you are new to yoga or an established practitioner, there is something to suit everyone at Stillness in Movement:

  • If you are new to yoga or Shadow Yoga, our Beginners class is a great place to start.
  • For individual attention if timings don’t work for you, or you have any particular needs that may not be able to addressed in a group setting, private tuition may suit you.
  • If you have an established practice already, contact Martina to see what class will suit you best.
